Joanna "Jo" Kitto has been licensed to practice law since 1998, practicing first in Chicago at a 200 attorney law firm, and later at a large law firm in Denver (McKenna & Cuneo and Perkins Coie). Ms. Kitto practiced accounting prior to law school, which informs her practice today. After founding her own firm, Ms. Kitto focuses her practice on family law, probate, and estate planning/asset protection. She also offers mediation and arbitration services. Ms. Kitto understands her role as a counselor who objectively assesses risk with clients, but also is poised to act as an advocate when dealing with other parties and the litigation-mediation process.

Nimi Sherpa graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minors in Philosophy and Sociology on the pre-law track. She graduated Cum Laude after completing an honors thesis examining rights violations in U.S. immigration detention centers and earned Distinction for maintaining a cumulative GPA above 3.75.

While in college, Nimi served as the Director of Media Relations and later as the Director of Student Outreach for the College of Arts and Sciences Student Government. She was also a member of Phi Alpha Delta, a pre-law fraternity. Nimi plans to attend law school and is particularly interested in immigration and human rights law, while remaining open to exploring other areas of law as she continues to gain experience.

Nimi has been with Kitto Law since August of 2026 and is a paralegal in training. She assists with projects involving estate planning, family law, and probate, including legal research and court filings. Ms. Sherpa also assists with document management and litigation preparation.

In her free time, Nimi enjoys spending time with friends and family and exploring more of Colorado, including hiking and visiting towns she has not been to before.
 

Kimberly Cardenas graduated from Andrews University in May of 2022 with a BA in Political Science and with a minor in Legal Studies. Kimberly is considering going to law school. She was the president of Pi Sigma Alpha Chapter at Andrews University from 2021-2022. She also interned with local councilwoman Jaime Torres, representative for District 3, in Denver during 2021.

She has been with Kitto Law since March of 2026 and is a paralegal in training. Ms. Cardenas is a valuable member of the team, and assists the law firm in estate planning, family and probate law, as well as on real estate and elder law matters.  She provides assistance in document management and productions, client intake, court filings, generation of initial word documents for pleadings, motions, and other court filings, docketing, and managing deadlines and trial preparation. Prior to working for Ms. Kitto, Ms. Cardenas worked for her family’s contracting business, where she honed her client service, organization and office management skills.

In her free time, Kimberly participates in recreational sports leagues around Denver.
